Education
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Master of Mathematics Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Experience
I served as supervisor of the Calculus tutoring lab at Mizzou for 2 years while attending college. I also worked as a general tutor of Calculus 1 & 2, Differential Equations, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry and Visual Basic Computer Science for 4 years. While tutoring I received the Bonnie Zelenak's "Excellence in Tutoring Award" for exhibiting practices that assisted hundreds of students in being successful in their mathematical studies. Currently I teach mathematics at Pattonville High School. I have taught at Pattonville for the past two years. My style of tutoring is based upon a student centered approach. While students explore problems I listen carefully and encourage them to share their thought processes so that I can assess their understanding and mold my instruction based on what the student knows.
